History

The Angelina County & Cities Health District is a public health district formed between the county and cities of Angelina County in 1967 and continues today as the health safety net for the community. The Health District community impact was enhanced through a management agreement with CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial-Lufkin. With this unique arrangement, the Angelina County & Cities Health District has grown significantly since the partnership was formed in 1997. Doubling our staff size to exceed 50 employees, state-of-the-art facilities in which to provide services, doubling the financial scope to a $7 million-dollar budget, adding an in-house pharmacy, community-based programs, and actively participating in Public Health Preparedness activities.
